It is a complicated process of artistic creation to use color and light to cooperate with performance and create stage atmosphere. This process reflects the designer's artistic accomplishment and technical experience. Different contents and forms of performances have different lighting design, and there are almost no fixed methods and skills.

1. Use of single color light

Single color light refers to the color light with only one color in the performance area to form the lighting atmosphere needed for the performance. According to the requirements of creation, either cold color light or warm color light can be selected. The main feature of using single color light is that the light color is relatively bright, and the color light will not be diluted or changed. In the performance scheduling of drama and dance, a single color light is sometimes used to highlight a group of shapes that need to be expressed. For example, in the performance of drama, the light of medium blue or light green is often used to show the night or dawn. In the dance performance, a single color light is often used to set off the strong lighting atmosphere of the group dance, and with the constant change of the mood and rhythm of the dance, it is used to strengthen the performance atmosphere of the stage. When a single color light is used, light and shade are generally not emphasized. If a slight difference between light and shade is required, multiple methods can be adopted, such as more lights on one side and less lights on the other side; if the lamps on both sides are the same, yarn can be added on the other side; and the light intensity of one side can be slightly dimmed by using the control system.

2. Use of the same color light

The same color light refers to a group of color lights with similar hues but different in concentration. For example, blue has medium blue, green blue, bright blue, light blue, sky blue, etc.; pink has orange pink, brilliant pink, pink, light pink, etc. Lighting design uses the same color light to create light atmosphere, mainly using their differences in brightness and color sense, to form a light and dark level on the stage. If the stage is covered with bright peach red light, and the side of the entrance door uses pink light, the lighting effect is based on the pink color, with certain light and shade difference. In addition, we can use the same color light to highlight the local performance area. In the performance area with medium blue light, light blue is used to project the local performance area with the side light of the two sides of the stage mouth, which makes the local highlight due to the difference in brightness. According to different needs, you can also use other "blue", such as bright blue light, sky blue light, etc. In the lighting parts, the backlight, bridge light on both sides and the top light at the entrance can be selected according to the scheduling of the characters and the position of the scene. Different lighting effects can be obtained by changing the position.

3. Application of the same color light

The same color light refers to the same cold color light or the same warm color light. The commonly used cold lights are medium blue, green blue, bright blue, brilliant blue, sky blue, light sky blue, dark green, medium green, light green, brilliant green, purple, light purple, green lotus, etc.; warm color lights include red, red, bright rose, deep peach, bright peach, deep orange, orange red, golden orange, golden amber, light Qiaohou, golden yellow, golden yellow, etc. With the blue in the cold color light as the basic color light, the next door side with the medium green light, you can form the feeling under the moonlight at night. If you need to enhance the brightness of the front, you can change the front light to sky blue or light medium blue. If the light amber in the warm color light is used as the basic color light and the red light is used on the one side of the field gate, a relatively red atmosphere can be formed.

When using colored light to create atmosphere, it is necessary to grasp the relationship between the light shadow effect of color light and the position of lamps and the brightness of color light. The whole stage is covered with orange red light. In the later part of the middle stage, a golden backlight is projected to the front part of the stage. In this way, the backlight of the golden light on the characters in the performance area is very bright. If the parts of these two kinds of lights are exchanged, the back light and shadow of the orange red light on the character will appear dim. Only by increasing the light quantity of the strong orange red light, can we obtain the bright backlight shadow.

4. Use of contrast shade

Contrast color light refers to the contrast between cold color light and warm color light. In use, the characters or scenery in the performance area are cast with cold color light and warm color light respectively from different directions. Due to the contrast and contrast of color light, a strong color light effect can be obtained.
